MAGA Hat Wearing Teen Sues The Washington Post for $250M

Nicholas Sandmann, the teen from the video in Washington D.C. where a group of MAGA hat-wearing high schoolers were confronted by a group of Black Hebrew Israelites before a Native American elder stepped in to diffuse the situation.

However, that doesn't change the optics of Sandmann's apparent smugness in the video. Nevertheless, Sandmann is suing The Washington Post for defamation claiming he was targeted in what his attorney describes as “a modern-day form of McCarthyism.”

Sandmann's attorneys also noted that the Post fanned the flames of a “mob of bullies which attacked, vilified & threatened” their 16-year-old client. “Washington Post recklessly ignored basic journalist standards because it was eager to advance its biased agenda against @realDonaldTrump by impugning individuals perceived to be his supporters,” said attorney Lin Wood.

The lawsuit also claims that the Post “ignored the truth and falsely accused Nicholas of, among other things, ‘accost[ing]’ Phillips by ‘suddenly swarm[ing]’ him in a ‘threaten[ing]’ and ‘physically intimidat[ing]’ manner.” His attorneys added a final warning to other outlets as well, stating: “All members of the mainstream & social media mob of bullies who recklessly & viciously attacked Nick would be well-served to read it carefully.”
