Swedish Prime Minister Responds to Trump Over A$AP Rocky Situation

By | On July 22, 2019

Recently, a Swedish judge ruled A$AP Rocky as a flight risk, so he wouldn’t be allowed out of jail while his case continues. Since then, Donald Trump has gotten involved and claims he is working on getting the rapper out of jail.

Via Twitter, Trump said “Just had a very good call with @SwedishPM Stefan Lofven who assured me that American citizen A$AP Rocky will be treated fairly. Likewise, I assured him that A$AP was not a flight risk and offered to personally vouch for his bail.” He also said, “our teams will be talking further, and we agreed to speak again in the next 48 hours!”

This comes after Kanye West reportedly reached out to Trump to get involved with the case.

Sweden’s prime minister recently issued a statement saying that he was down to speak with Trump in relation to A$AP Rocky’s current detainment. He spoke about being aware of the fact that Trump “has a personal interest in the case, but also noted he “cannot and will not attempt to influence prosecutors or courts.”

Lofven continued on by saying ”In Sweden, everyone is equal before the law, and this includes visitors from other countries.”
