2 Chainz Responds to Lil Wayne and Kanye West Supporting Donald Trump

2 Chainz stopped by The Breakfast Club on Friday to discuss his latest album, So Help Me God.

During the discussion, the rapper spoke about his current situation with Def Jam, trying to secure a Jay-Z feature, contracting the coronavirus earlier this year, and meeting Barack Obama.

After describing what it was like meeting Obama, Charlamagne asked 2 Chainz how Lil Wayne and Kanye West - both of whom have publicly supported Donald Trump -  felt about his efforts in getting Georgia to vote for Joe Biden.


"I don't know," 2 Chainz responded 16:55 into the interview. "They're not my partners based on their political preference or their thoughts. They're my partners because of who they is. They're my partners because of our relationship, what we've built over time."

The Atlanta native's history with Lil Wayne and Kanye West extends over a decade. 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have worked together numerous times, including "Duffle Bag Boy" and their collaborative album, ColleGrove. 2 Chainz has also been considered a G.O.O.D. Music affiliate.

"I'm not gon' stop talking to [Wayne]," 2 Chainz continued. "Whatever Ye goes through, whatever he does...see, the thing about me that I take pride in is my relationships is not industry-based. I don't have to ever do another song with either one of these cats. We still gonna have a rapport. We still gonna have a relationship. I saw it happen but these folks grown. You'll have to ask them what their angle was and what their beliefs was."
